1. Getting error of reporting component

2. Open Data Sources (ODBC) from Start -> Administrative Tools

3. Click on "System DSN" Tab

4. Select "Symantec Endpoint Security DSN" and click on "Configure" button

5. Click on "Login" tab and put the following credentials

User ID : DBA

Password : <Password of Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager>

6. Click on "Database" tab and fill in the following entries

Server Name : <Server name on which SEPM is installed>

Database Name : sem5

7. Click on "Network" tab and fill in the following entries

TCP/IP : host=<IP address of the computer on which SEPM is installed>

8. Click on "ODBC" tab and click on Test connection

9. Click on OK on "Symantec Endpoint Security DSN" window

10. Click on OK on "ODBC Data Source Administrator" window

<<<IF THE ABOVE STEPS DO NOT RESOLVE THE ISSUE FOLLOW THE FOLLOWING STEPS>>>

1. Open IIS Manager

2. Expand "<local Computer>"

3. Expand "Application Pools"

4. Rt. click on "DefaultAppPool"

5. Open Properties

6. Click on "Identity" Tab

7. Under "Select a security account for this application pool" change the following

predefined : Local System

8. Close IIS Manager without restarting

9. Log-off from Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager and Log back on
